There are many reasons these things can happen but #1 is DRIED INK! Either in the print head (expensive to replace, sometimes can be repaired) or on some models INCLUDING large design-jet style plotters, the Ink tubes. Other causes of not printing an image can be control circuit or bargain ink caused. I have personally ruined print heads with non-genuine ink refills. Which is why I own a laser printer. Toner cartridges COST more, but have HIGHER YIELD, so COSTS LESS PER PRINTED PAGE, and stores nearly indefinitely (usually at least a year in most cases). If you want to FIX your inkjet, search youtube, and there are DIY videos to help you if you'd rather not take it to and pay a place that repairs them and sells refill ink............
